Solutions by practice type

One HIPAA-ready workspace, set up the way your practice actually runs. Pick your setting below: each page walks through a real day, from the first front desk message to the last task closed, and shows what stays outside chat.

1

Dental offices

  • Front desk to operatory in one channel. Late arrivals, insurance questions and room changes reach the assistant without walking the corridor.
  • Light systems stay, chat fills the gaps. The call light says "come now"; the chat says why, and keeps the history.
  • Supplies and equipment as tasks. "Autoclave in room 3 errors again" becomes a task with an owner and a due date.
  • Multi-chair and multi-location practices keep one workspace with a channel per site.

2

Therapy group practices

  • Clinicians who are rarely in the same room. Part-time therapists, telehealth days and shared offices need one place for scheduling changes and coverage.
  • Minimum necessary by design. Channels per team and guests for billing keep client details away from people who do not need them.
  • Intake, waitlist and referrals as tasks instead of sticky notes on the admin's desk.
  • Signed BAA on the Business plan so client names and session logistics can be discussed at all.

3

Physical therapy practices

  • Therapists on their feet, not at a desk. Voice notes and mobile apps for the clinic floor.
  • Plan-of-care handoffs between PT, PTA and front desk without chasing people between patients.
  • Equipment, cleaning and inventory tracked as recurring tasks on a Kanban board.
  • Multi-location clinics share one workspace, with managers in a cross-site channel.

Home care agencies

  • Caregivers in the field reach the office from their phones, with the history searchable later.
  • Shift changes and client updates in channels per client or region, not in SMS threads on personal numbers.
  • Guests for a family contact or a contracted nurse, limited to one conversation.
  • Retention and audit trail for the agency's compliance file, with the BAA in place.

Multi-location and group practices

  • One workspace, one channel per site, plus shared channels for managers, billing and HR.
  • Roles with 120+ permission settings: site managers run their channels, the practice owner sees everything.
  • Announcements that reach every location at once and stay pinned.
  • SSO, directory sync and SCIM on Enterprise for practices with an IT provider.

Any other clinic or practice

  • The setup is the same: Business plan, signed BAA, 2FA, roles and retention, then channels per department.
  • Medical, pediatric, dermatology, urgent care, veterinary: the day looks different, the workspace does not.
  • Start from the staff chat guide and the compliance checklist; both apply to any practice type.
  • Tell us your setting and we will add a page for it.

Rolling it out in a week

  1. Day 1: create the workspace and invite the office manager and one lead per department.
  2. Day 2: channels. One per location or department, one for announcements, one for equipment and supplies.
  3. Day 3: upgrade to Business and sign the BAA before any patient detail enters the chat.
  4. Day 4: guardrails. 2FA or SSO, roles, retention, a one-page rule on what goes in chat and what stays in the EHR; the HIPAA compliance checklist covers it.
  5. Day 5: move the team. Close the WhatsApp group, pin the rule, and run the first daily huddle from chat.

Chanty is internal staff communication. It works alongside your EHR, patient portal, scheduling and telehealth systems and is not for patient messaging or urgent clinical alerting.
